Plop: 3DMark2000 around 4700, why so darn slow?

Just that: I ran 3DMark 2000 on my new system (running Windows 2000 Server), and I came up with 4700.

My hardware is available in my rig listing (follow the link below, "My First OC'd Box") -- but basically it's a dual proc PIII 700@1030Mhz, Hercules Prophet II 3D (or whatever they call it) Pro 64MB, 256MB RAM, running on a MSI 694D (yes, that's a Via chipset) mobo. I'm running the latest drivers that Hercules provided (on their shipped CD, then updated from their Web site). I am NOT currently running the NVIDIA reference drivers, nor am I yet overclocking the video card at all.

A few questions:
- is this surprisingly high, or surprisingly low?
- if low, any ideas on what could be holding it back, and what I could do to bump it up?
- could it be just a "reporting error" 'cuz it's running on Win2K?
- could it be that the Hercules drivers blow, I should get the NVIDIA ref drivers?
- could it be that the Via chipset just blows, I have to deal?
- could it be that ______________________?

Thanks in advance!
