Plexwriter W4012A only burns at 12X max ???

Hey there,

This is a question I have had for a while now .
I can not for the life of me figure out why the Plextor only
burns at 12X max even when I tell it to do 40 or 32.
This includes from another CD and from the HDD.
Anyone got a clue why the Burner would ge slower then
rated ??

is this with cd rewritable disks or cdrs?
what burning software & version number are you using?

What is the rating on the media? I have a Yamaha F1 (44x12x44) and when I use my older Maxell 8x CDRs Nero and EZCD automatically slow down the recording speed to accomodate the media.
