Staples will try to add buy.com shipping price, and you have to pay tax. It may be better just to buy it from buy.com with the $30 off new customer's coupon.

+$ 7.15 (buy.com ground shipping)
+$ 11.40 (sales tax assuming it's 7.5%)

Besides, if you buy through staples, you have to go through the hassle of PM with a CSR. Also, throw in 3% back for buy.com purchase through ebates.com, and you've got a clear winner here.

and as for the other post by 'sirsolo'. I do not expect to get a hasle from staples CSR, being that i priced matched the other day for some Altec computer speakers (surround sound). buy.com has them for $53.95... i called staples, over the phone i purchased the same Altec speakers for $81.99.. told CSR i would like to price match, no problem, CSR price match buy.com for $53 then i used a coupon for $20 off $50.. to bring the price down to $36.44 shipped.... i did not get any hasle from CSR about shipping or anything...
 
I did this deal a few days back and got my spanking new Plextor from Staples within 3 days !

  • Get a FREE Kodak FunSaver one time use camera with flash with this deal. Add item# 453142 to your basket and use coupon code <you_know_where_to_find_it> to get the camera for free. This coupon is stackable with other $$ off coupon codes.

    Make sure the $40-off-$150 it still valid ... I thought it was supposed to expire on Sept 26

    Pricematch with another company. I did it with Avlogic.com, who had this same drive for $180.50 and $8 shipping. Do a pricewatch.com search for other vendors carrying this drive.

    If you are patient, wait for the next Buy.com FREE shipping period. They had one just recently
 
Technically, Staples pricematching policy states that any order above $50 they don't add the cost of overnight shipping to...good luck trying to get them to not charge you for the overnight though.
