plextor software question

Do I need to install the plextor software> I thought it said something about faster audio extraction times. I have audio grabber and it only extracts at 8x-12x. I thought my new 12x 10x 32x plextor should be faster. I have only installed easy cd creator and not any of the other software. thanks
 
I installed PlexManager on my 12x SCSI, but didn't on my g/f's burnproof system. I really didn't see that I needed it. I believe it may have an utility for changing the spinup/down times. I do use CDResQ. Seemed to work just fine. I cloned to my laptop with it.
