no, good for cable management though. if you want a aforadable dvd burner benQ and NEC.

 
from the few reviews I've heard, there is not enough of a performance advantage to make the sata drive worth the purchase ( at least at launch prices), but since then the prices have lowered, some compatibilty issues have been ironed out and the advantage of using thinner cables is always nice. Seems like more ppl are using this now. If you have the $ go for it.
