Plextor releases M5 Pro

Thanks for the heads up, I was wondering when these controllers were going to be released.

The article doesn't mention the type of nand used though - Anyone know?

Availability is mid-August according to Plextor. Pricing is to be announced (I should have MSRPs later this week).

NAND is 19nm Toshiba Toggle-Mode, something we haven't seen before.

Should I wait for these guys ? seems so right ? any idea on pricing ? similar to 256s are going for or a lot higher ? these look like better ssd ?

*Noob question alert!* Ok I know 19nm refers to the size of something used in the manufacture of the flash memory, but what exactly does this reflect in how the drive operates or performs? Since the size of the flash is smaller, does that mean data can move in and out of it faster? Does it mean that more flash could be packed into a SSD allowing for SSDs to be made with larger capacities?

That is the sort of question that you can answer yourself. Start with wikipedia to get a general idea, and maybe follow some of their reference links. Then you should know enough to start to google to find out more specific information.
