Is it possible for the Plextor to become damaged during the shipping, so that it would affect the speed of it? And is there any good software to test your CD-RW speed? I haven't even received the Plextor yet, just wondering.
 
Just got my Plextor from onvia.com and it would take something short or a nuclear blast to damage what it shipped in. The padding in the retail box itself is one of those plastic air-filled life raft looking things. I wouldn't worry till you get it and try it out.
