The HP only does 2.4X on DL media. The Plextor does 6X.

I guess if your rich enough to buy DL discs then you might as well blow your money on the Plextor. It's basicall all about buying the name. Reviews were done (tons of reviews) say the NEC 3520a has better writing quality, even better when you have the "better" firmware on it.

It's all about the name and the pretty retail box.
 
There was a even better deal about a week ago at best buy. Not sure if it was a price mistake but I got the same burner for $101 before rebate 🙂 Now it's back to 129.99

Yeah and I just missed it!! The price was $101 before rebates (and I had $35 in GC/reward zone) but they raised the price on Thursday.

Since the plextor rebate doesn't expire until 3-31 I'm going hold off until late in the month in case BB has any preferred customer sales.
