That price point is right at where you can get the M3 on sale... I suspect it will come down a bit more once it gets into circulation more.

Ah Plextor. They're like the little engine that couldn't. They spend so much money engineering their drives and so little on advertising them that they get overlooked by most people who are interested in buying SSDs.

For the record I love my M3pro.

Rumor is that the Plextor M5P will be out in about a month. It will use the new Marvell controller (88SS9187), 19nm toggle flash, and have even higher performance than the M3P. It should also have a 5 year warranty.

Of course, it will probably have a hefty price premium over the M5S, but for those who want the best performance in a high-quality SSD, I think the M5P will be the one to get.

That link seems to show the M3 Pro, but the first set of numbers are a little differnt, so maybe that is for the M5 Pro? I'm sure if I could read the site, I would figure it out. o_O But anyways, how do you guys (or the guys who posted the numbers on that site) get a hold of this information? Is it employees of the company, or is it leaked info or something? Or is it all rumors? or maybe eduacated guesses of whats to come?

No, it is about the M5P. It of course mentions the M3P, saying that M5P is the successor.

I don't know how they get the information. I suspect it is just leaks from people who Plextor did not want to talk about the product yet.

An initial review of the Plextor M5P. It uses the new Marvell 88SS9187 controller and Toshiba 19nm toggle flash.

The AS-SSD benchmark looks very good:

The benchmark looks outstanding. Hope the price for the M5P will be competitive.
