Plextor Tuner/PVR TV100U Details

I saw this at Techb@rgains and it seems to be a good deal if you don't mind that it won't work with Vista or MCE (which is probably why it's so cheap). External USB 2.0 Tuner/PVR (with software). $5.64 shipping & $30 rebate (exp. Mar31).

The SageTV software sucks. Sound apparently doesn't work.

Wow.. WMP classic works as a TV tuner program. Too bad it won't let me select S Video.

Can you hook this up to a secondary monitor via RCA jacks to VGA converter? Or do you have to use the USB?

You have to use USB.

This is a piece of junk. When I try to use it with media player, or Windows Movie Maker, it Windows crashes. And sound doesn't work no matter what. Unless I can get it to work, it's a big waste of $10. The Plextor site doesn't even have drivers...

Ah, found the drivers under firmware... But they weren't in the regular driver section. Didn't Plextor used to be a good company? http://www.plextor.com/english/support/support_downloads.html#firm

What the.. now I get sound finally, but it's too staticy to hear, and the video is black and white.
