Plextor CD Burners

It's time to upgrade my burner, definatly want a Plextor. I understand they can do bit by bit accurate copies. I'm not a software pirate, I'm just getting tired of having to but multiple copies of games for myself and my 3 kids. That's 4 copies and somtimes more if they scratch theirs.

Just want to know, do I need a Plextor CD-Rom to make a CD to CD copy or will a Plextor Burner allow me to create an image file of the origional that will install and run these games?

Plextor drives come with Plextor DiscDupe, which does bit by bit copies. This works on most games/apps, but for those that don't, you want a program that will support RAW(and CLone cd 😉). Most plextor drives(if not all) support RAW.

I know the 8x20's do, as do the IDE 12/10/32As.

it may not be your cd burner that causes u to have bad burns, but it could also be the software you are using. also try http://www.gamecopyworld.com to find out if you need to do anything special to run those games after you back them up.

and you wont need a plextor cdrom to rip the cd's. if you place them on hard drive before burning them, just use the plextor cd burner to rip them and then burn them afterwords.

you can use Discdupe at any speed with Plextor burner and CDROM. But if you have another brand of CDROM's then DiscDupe will default 1x when burning.

Thanks for the info guys. NOW I KNOW ... WHAT I MUST DO !!

Hey Paldo, how does your V3 like that 100 mhz AGP bus? That's a hell of an over clocked system you're running.
