Plextor 8/4/32a IDE Drive, there's a new firmware update available

Anyone besides me having trouble getting it to install? Every time I try, it locks my machine up. I have an i815 mb and there isn't an option to disable DMA in the Device Manager. I tried using the Intel Storage Driver Companion to change the settings but I'm not sure which setting is the right one.
