Plextor 40x CD-ROM troubles

heya,

My Plextor has been having trouble with certain audio CDs, especially burned CDs, but I've also seen this happen with retail CDs.

Basically, it'll start a track, it'll run for maybe a minute, maybe more, maybe less, then skip a little bit for a second or two, then it'll move to the next track.

I have double-checked termination, so I don't think that's the problem. This is a brand new drive (about 3 weeks old), and has firmware 1.11

Typically it means that the burn wasn't very good, or has problems. I have the same drive and do not have problems with it.

A successful burn might still have problems in it. Just because it says its successful doesn't mean that it is perfect, it just means that the track finished.
