Plextor 24x CD Burner as good as 16x?

I remember seeing an early review (forgot which one) of the Plextor 24x CDRW when it first came out. It said the 24x unit had some bugs and problems and was not fully compatitble with CloneCD writing in RAW mode and some other bugs...

Unlike the 16x unit from Plextor which was flawless.

I am not sure if there are any fixes or bios upgrades that addressed these bugs.

I am using the Plextor 16x burner now. I have the opportunity to sell my 16x and get the 24x unit. Should I make the move? Is the Plextor 24x bug-free now?

All the newest reviews i've read have nothing bad to say at all...plus the price has really dropped on them

the real question is whether or not you want to shell out the money for a gain of approx. 1 minute quicker burns?

oh yes, I will pay the extra $ for the extra 1 minute of burn time.

it's all about the "brag-ability" of the product hahahaha

it's selling for HK$1420 in Hong KOng.
that's about US$182

I'll be able to rid my old 16x for US$120. so I just pay extra US$62 for the upgrade.

...

with the reviews...I have seen a number of the latest reviews too...and they are all good.
but still...the bad review I saw earlier is glued to my mind...
I am a Plextor fan afterall, since my first SCSI 4x Plex reader with 1MB buffer... in fact, that costed more than the 24x burner now.
