woah.. 20x.. thats crazy.. does anyone really need to burn a cd that fast? But then I'll prolly be one of the first to buy one when it does come out, so i shouldn't be talking.

Yeah I heard it will be a full 650mb disc in under 4 mins! Saw this over on one of those burning pages. It might possibly be delayed though because of the lack of 20 speed certified discs or 12x rw discs.. I'm holding off buying their 12x drive because I feel 7 mins is just too long for me to wait. Under 4 would be ideal

I don't know about you guys but I'd be a little concerned about buffer under-runs at that point. :)

Even at 8x I can't copy audio cd to cd. :(

That's because your CDRom drive is too slow :)

I can't wait for this drive...just remember, you guys were saying the same thing about 8x'ers and now we have 12x and even 16x. ;)

Hmm... I thought the 12X's took 4 mins to burn a full CD. Some one here was bragging about it... forgot who it was.

12's take 7 mins for 650mb even longer on 700's which most of us are all buying over at outpost for only like $12.00 (visit hot deals forum). 90 and 99min discs would be awesome! I haven't seen those yet but I have heard of them. I'm sure the price on this drive will be right around $300.00 when it first comes out. But the price should drop just as fast as Plextor's 12 speed. I've been trying to find more info out about this drive but so far nothing. Just that its slated for this year!

I've got an ancient burner at 2*2*4.(hey it's 2½ years old, it was good when I got it) I plan on getting something new this year. probably gonna settle for 12*8*20 since I want SCSI and I need to get a new card as well. It'll cost too much to get any better.
