Building my new system today. Everything went great til I got to the Plextor. Near as I can tell, it doesn't come with any drivers and expects them to be recognized and supplied by Windows98.

Unfortunately, circular effect here, if you haven't installed the CD-ROM yet, you can't use it to load your OS. If you don't have the OS loaded, you can't install the CD. GRRRRR...

Tried Plextor's site. Forget about it. The only info I can get is re: SCSI. And I read here about the hour-long waits on the phone line. I'd like to get to bed at a reasonable hour tonight...selfish, I know.

So anybody else out there who's figured out how to get the Plextor to go if Windows isn't already installed?

Thanks.

how about booting with a boot disk, that will recognize the 12/10/32A as a generic cd-rom.

Also, i've been able to use the 12/10/32A with bootable cd-roms and it worked fine. Both win2k and win98 bootable cd's have worked with it.
