What exactly are the benefits of using Plextools. I have a Plextor Premium CDRW drive but I hardly ever burn anything. Knowing this would you still recommend I install Plextools? I know it can slow down my drive but I don't want to slow down my drive.

PlexTools are mainly useful for burning, but if you are having trouble reading a disk, you can do some tweaking that might lead to a good read. It's only about 9MB - won't take long to grab.

They have a number of options to tweak the drive. You can actually increase and decrease the power of the laser among other things. There are options for slowing the speed down for less noise, lots of burning tweaks and info among other things. Having said that, if you don't do much burning (and even for people that do) there is no real need to install/use it if you don't want to mess with it.

Thanks Zepper and now that I've got your attention ;)...I've been meaning to enquire about the PSU in your Sig...who Manu's that {Lite-On?} and would I need a Pin adapter for 1 Desktop?...
TIA

It's manufactured by Zippy Technology Corp. ( http://www.zippy.com ) in Taiwan (Emacs is their PSU brand name). LiteOn equipped some of their Suncheer server cases with them. When newegg had some of these, they were selling them for $106. or about $114. shipped. Pretty much the same as the HP2-6500P that's on there now - compare the specs.
. It will work with a standard ATX PC as long as there is a little clearance at the opposite end from the orange (3.3V) wires. Probably be a good idea to tack the connector in place with some hot-glue, etc as the latches don't mate if used that way - connector might work loose from thermal cycling unless left on 24/7 ;) . I would rather use it that way than with an adapter as that is just more points for nasty resistance to crop up and melt your connector shells ;) .

Thanks for asking,
