plex40 not reading audio cd?

I just don't get it. I stick in this particular audio cd, it just can't read it. I put it in the pioneer scsi dvd, reads just fine. I put it in the 8x20 imation/plex cdr, it reads just fine.

Why won't the 40xPlex take it???(50pin) There are some scratches on the cd, but I would have thought the plextor would take it...

grrr.. it's not THAT big of a deal.. but it just pisses me off that it's not reading it.
 
Just one CD or all audio CDs? I had the second problem in Win 2000. Installed new drivers and it stopped working altogether. 🙁

Works fine in Windows 98.
