I was called up to fix a Sony Vaio Desktop Model RX650 because cd burning was not functioning. To my suprise, it appeared as if the cd rom drives were proprietary-sized, and that the right side of the case is designed to not be removed (as per the manual). Do any of you have any experience with these problems? Are the cd-roms drives really properietary-sized or am I just seeing things? Is there any way to get the drives out without ripping the side of the case off?
