i got this error message yesterday, saying that i have to change my ide controller repartition my hard drive. i looked through microsoft throubleshoot site, and got no where but to reinstall windows. i did the repair installation but got nothing. i am trying to find the actual mobo driver for the ide controller, but i doubt i can because it was once part of an HP system, that i have upgraded almsot everything but the mobo/processor. any help/suggestions short of reformatting the whole partition cause that is like 40gb of stuff gone. thanks
