I'm in the position of needing new memory, video, motherboard, processor. I used to use the Cyrix processors back in the mid 90's, so I'm kind of interested in this. It is called a Via V21G motherbord. A 1.5 GHz CPU is integrated onto the motherboard, as is onboard video, sound, LAN, and both IDE and SATA.

I never really thought I'd see the day where a CPU was integrated on the mboard, but I guess it has happened.

I just need a budget system to get me by until the AM3 platform comes out, and dual or quad core processors become the norm, even on the budget CPU's.

So, I saw this mboard for $70. With the $15 paypal rebate, it would be $61 with shipping. All I would need to add would be some DDR2 memory, which I could then use in my next system.

If I understand it correctly, the Via C7 processor runs at 1.5 GHz.

Most of my time is spent browsing the web, watching and compressing mpeg4 video and DVD's, and playing simple games like bejeweled. Doing the occasional mpeg 4 video compression is probably the most CPU intensive thing that I do.

So, does this motherboard sound like a good deal? I'm thinking I might grab one, but I'd like to hear back from you folks, first. I could have easily spent this much on a video card alone!
