thanx for ur reply
but no sir,
the scan isnt black, on microsoft word it appears as u didnt do any scans the same new white paper (nothing appears).
it is functioning just fine on other scans such as image and PDF scans.
the problem is only in word.
and by the way i tried the word scan on scanjet 4400c and it worked fine

what version of word do you have? you are scanning by doing "insert > picture > from scanner"? what version of windows?

I have the same scanner. It works fine with Office 2000 and W2K Pro... I'm using the supplied drivers etc. I had to install the feature first for Office - have you done that?

is the paper flipped the right direction....(my ex actually had this problem before and this was the only question i had to ask)

thank u for replying
but could u please me more specific about the features installed and flipping the paper into right directions
coz my experience with scanners is minimum
thank u al lot

why dont you try scaning the document right through the designed scaning software (assuming it is a hp prog) then save the doc...and import into MSWord?
