My friends parents asked if I could get all 3 of their computers hooked up to each other and on the net using their DSL line. I know they have 1 IP so my first though was the Linksys Router/Switch. They said they don't want to spend too much and time is not an issue... So I though I would try Freesco for the first time!!! Yes I will read the Freesco manual, but I just want to figure out the hardware I need so I can come up with a price.

486 MB + CPU
16M RAM
floppy
AT PS
controller card (for floppy)
case (maybe I will build one)
2XNIC (do I need a specific one?, one goes into DSL the other into switch)
Netgear 5 Port Switch
NICs for all the computers

Is that what I need? I have most of this lying around.
I am going to download the manual now... if you have any tips just let me know :)

thank you oh god-like networking forum :p

If you are going to buy the NICs, I suggest checking the FreeSCO's website to see what's supported... you can save yourself the trouble of trying to get the NICs to work...

Thanks for the headsup... I noticed Freesco has given preferential treatment to the 3com and Realtek NICs... now to find some in an ISA flavour.

I have to build another Freesco box for a friend and was able to find 2 3com ISA NICs on Fleabay for 12 bucks shipped for the pair.
