blatant plug/beg for mercy

I'm sick sick sick of the stupid HardOCP-esqe no0bs posting this flamebait. At least five times a day someone makes a new "omfg nvidia is teh cheatx0r1" thread, or ditto for ATI. And we won't even get into the ... ahem ... "lively debates" that arouse whenever the "should I buy (nvidia card) or (ati card)"? :p

Please. Do the forums a favour.

I see no point to start flame wars. nVidia has won the graphics game for several years, but now ATI has stepped up and they're currently kick nVidia's ass. This will probably change in the near future, though.

That is all

Well, if someone asks whether to buy ATI or nvidia right now, the answer is clearly ATI in the $180-and-up price range (9500 Pro through 9800 Pro). Once the 3 fx5900 cards are shipping this may change.

Meanwhile I'll keep using my Geforce3 while I wait for Doom3 and Half-Life 2 :)

i only use nvidia because my nforce2 has it, and i dont play any games.

nvidia makes far better chipsets the ATI athlon chipset blows compared to the nforce2. nvidia also has better drives on their cards, more refresh rate and resolution support.

granted i dont care much about games, but i dont even know why pepople care about the 3d marks and stuff. i mean, based onthe benchmarks, even if ati or nvidia is a little faster at some level, who cares you really cant tell.

They both suck, period. No need for threads. I'm not paying $50 for a lousy videocard which anyway can't do anything performance-wise. Niether do I need an $200 one.
