Please suggest A64 CPU model based on my MB and RAM

I already have Asus A8V Deluxe Rev 2.0 and 1Gig Kingston DDR400 ValueRam, and plan to buy a Antec True550W very soon.

I hope to choose the low-end 3000+ 90nm CPU due to its low price and so called 'high OC potential' . Someone said it can be overclocked 20 2.6GHz, but I am not sure whether it can happen to me, since my Kingston memory is not fancy OC RAM.

My question is:

(1) Using my current Asus Delux MB and Kingston memory, what's the upper limit of CPU speed I can reach? Will the RAM be the bottleneck of my overclocking?

(2) Is 3000+ definitely has higher OC potential than other 90nm 3200/3400/3500 ?

(3) From you guys intuition, do you think the price these 90nm CPU will drop further in near future?
🙂

Thanks a lot for your help.

1) it really just depends on the chip. it may hit 2.6 (although i doubt it), it may only hit 2.3. you can use a RAM divider, it doesnt degrade a64 performance (other than lower bandwidth)
2) the other chips (other than the 3400+, which an 939 is always a newcastle) are likely to hit slightly higher speeds. however, you could get a particularly good/bad chip for any of them
3) not that much. they are in a lot of demand, so the prices probably wont drop until at least next year.
