i'm sort of looking for a battery that has better price>value ratio. sony at $200+/ 2600 mah, i don't think is good p>v ratio. i've seen some $150/3200 mah batt's but am not familiar with those brand names. ergo, the need to know of a good aftermarket brand at a decent price. all, pls let me know... thanx :)

heh, sorry for posting back so late, i got tdy'd for a couple and am due back out in 4 days at 0-dark hundred hrs in care of uncle sam. well, my job has been keeping me away from my beloved desktop, so i've been relying heavily on my lappie while on the run. i'm currently getting 1hr usage out of two installed batt's and sinking fast. i need fresh batt's now-ish.
viper, i got a well-worn but trusty vaio f680. i'm not sure if i should spring for one double capacity li-ion's or two standard li-ion's. can't afford to spend more than that right now because i just spent $3k+ on a canon 10d with lenses, etc.
knowing a good brand @ good price would go a long way toward deciding how to go.
if i knew of a better brand than oem at a better price i'd jump at it quickie-quickie.
i tend to rely on comments from folks on this forum rather than what the marketing shirts want me to hear. so, anybody? :)

sony makes the most expensive batteries. well the highest markups. its why one should avoid their laptops like the plague.

you can get an external 10 hr battery from valence-n-charge for the price of their dinky weenie batttery.

oroo oroo, yowza! now that's the kind of stuff i had in mind. i went to bestbuy and ordered the 10hr version. the 5hr. model looked attractive price-wise but for a c-note more i get double the capacity, which is a major concern for me (loooong flights). thanx much. hope it comes in time. :)
