Hi!
For several months I have been having peculiar errors, both software-related
and physical hard disk problems, such as the HD suddenly stopping and a blue
screen coming up and saying 'cannot write to hard disk' etc.
A week ago, upon turning my computer on, I recieved a blue 'fatal error'
screen when Windows 98 tried to boot. Also, many files on my HD were
corrupted including the file system and file structure. I decided to
purchase a *new* IBM Hard disk.
It's now been several days since I installed the hard disk, and today it
started making physical noises as if it stops and start spinning or
sometimes it pauses and freezes the whole computer for many minutes, leaving
me no choice to switch the PC off.
Seeing as my PC has been having many problems with both HDD's I now suspect
that I have a virus in the memory, if this is the case, what should I do
now? I've purchased and run the latest version of Nortan AV, but it can't
find any viruses, what am I to do? At the moment my computer is running, but
I have to be very careful I don't trigger anything off :-((
I appreciate any help anyone here can give!
Respectfully,
Zahid Saddique
