Please restore the old Search

This new search makes searching far too difficult. Now I'm forced to choose something for "Select What" and also click 17 checkboxes to indicate I want to search everything. :(

I often do a Username search on my handle to see what posts I've been active in recently. This new search makes this unnecessarily difficult to pull off. Btw, can you add a feature to search all topics for a username in both the title and body? That would be a handy addition. Or if nothing else store my selection for "Search by:" in my cookie. That would at least save me one click.

This all being said I like the new search options. Please keep them but tuck them in an Advance Search screen or something.

JellyBaby- Huge nod to that! Thank god it's back to the old right now, MUCH easier to search for my old threads to see if anybody has replied, etc. I hated the same thing you mentioned, clicking all of those damn boxes. :(

It's running awesome now though. The old forums seem much quicker, also. Must be a lot of upgrading going on..

The &quot;Select All&quot; button is working wonders for me. :) 100% resolved here.

Yep, I did see Select All. My point is simply that it now takes me 4 clicks instead of the old 2 to perform the same operation (searching on my handle). The user interface should consider the user, always. Here a change was made to the UI that makes it more difficult to use. This is going in the wrong direction. I applaud the advanced features but I'd rather have the old way back because it's quicker and easier for how I search.

Why can't my preference just be saved in a cookie or server-side? That's the ideal solution. Just save the my last choices when I click Search.

Jellybaby really? :) Users asked for this over 50 users infact asked for this feature. So WE CATERED to the user.

Hi, Zuni.

Again, the new features are great and I thank you for taking time to implement them! But it now takes 4 steps to search on my username where before it took only 2. That's my point.

The best solution is to save our preferences for Keyword:, Search What:, Search by, etc. in the cookie. That way everybody's happy (except maybe you as I know it takes work!).

Either way thanks for reading my thread. Most devs would not have bothered. :)

The new search does allow for a lot more flexibility. However, I think it would be best if all the boxes were checked by default. I think most people search all the forum instead of just a few parts. Those people that do search specific areas of the forum can just press the deselect-all button.

Besides that, I really like the new forum setup.

Uhhh, Hi. My name is Dumas, and I want more flexability in this program, but I don't want to have to do anything more than whay I do now. I am really incapable of clicking my mouse many times a day, so it would be nice if you just... STFU

I like the new search, it takes a bit more work, but I think it works alot better than the old one. Thanks Zuni, keep up the good work.

I've no complaint with the search function, seems to work well and it's easy enought to &quot;select all&quot;. I did get an error the other day though when I put in start and end dates. Seems fine w/o them though.
