My favorite nowadays is the Apricorn USB housing at Newegg.com. It's not cheap ($40 or $50, depending on sales). But it's full aluminum, and has a quiet and large built-in fan. I've been using a couple of the USB versions at a client for backups for six months now and they've functioned perfectly. I use a couple of the SATA versions on my own servers and, again, they've been flawless.

I use an Adaptec, forget the model. surprisingly got it at Best Lie for 30 bucks. Solid alluminum, miniUSB connector that is actually very strong, nice thick cable.

ICY BOX, I think it's called. Two of my friends have them too, they're good. Related to my post in your other thread.

woa, awesome. do you recommend any?

I have one of these and one of these. My first link is probably what you want. The case is plastic, but has a nice quiet fan. The second link has a swappable tray and 2 noisy fans. My only suggestion is, make sure what you order, is what you want. Some come in about a zillion configurations.

MApower make some of the best enclosures around, no cheap chipsets, very solid build quality (lots of AL). Not as cheap as some but your getting a much better enclosure than most.
