...and who is, ideally, also great at discerning software benefits.

If those needs are mutually exclusive, can you please post or private message me:

- The contact info for a professional website developer (who could also design a logo)

- The contact info for a company/individual who is good at marketing and clearly articulating and discerning software benefits

My father just finished making a preliminary website to sell his software product on.

I love him and am so proud of him for finally finishing the development of a product that he's literally spent years designing and coding/programming. However, I feel like the website a product is sold on is a significant part of making or breaking the sale... from what I know, my father's database product sounds very powerful but right now the website he has made doesn't effectively communicate that since he is a programmer, not a graphic or website designer. Then again I could be wrong as I don't fully understand the capacity of the software he is selling - do you think that the site could benefit from a redesign or is it effective in its current state for people who are looking for such a product?

Looking forward to receiving recommendations. If you happen to have your own professional website designing company, can you please send me a quote regarding how much it will cost to design a logo and redesign the website? I will be paying for it out of my own pocket as a gift to my father.

Thank you for your attention and recommendations, I really appreciate it.

His current website (English is not his first language, I can help with the copy if needed)

If you have any constructive criticism for the site that would help with the redesign/logo, I'd appreciate the feedback. Thank you.

When did Anandtech turn into a damn recruiting website? There have been a bunch of these lately.

I thought that AT would be the best resource for this.

If I'm posting in the wrong forum please let me know so I can request info in the appropriate forum.

Yeah I don't know why I said that, your cause seems noble enough and the product looks interesting. Probably the programming forum would be more appropriate if it's the technical web design stuff you're after, otherwise logo design usually happens in OT (with mixed results).

I doubt your father really wants to pay for what a professional website design would cost.

No worries, thank you for the helpful suggestions. I think that he needs a mix of technical web design (at least a programmer who would understand the product?) and something more interesting, engaging and user-friendly that would get people excited about/interested in the product.

I thought about asking OT for help with a logo (got some great suggestions when the product was in the stage of being named and paid out the top runners!), right now I'm considering whether to do that or see how much it would cost a professional logo designer to create? I'm not sure what that sort of service runs for these days and am awaiting a couple quotes from companies I found on yelp...

I am willing to try and pay for it out of pocket myself as a gift to him. Is there a range of what one would cost given the content of the site? It doesn't have to be super snazzy with bells and whistles, just more interesting and helpful to look at than the current site which is informative but minimal in terms of design.
