Please recommend quality rounded cables..

I'm looking for some quality rounded cables for my pc. I'm looking for 2 single device ATA133 cables in colors, and 1 single floppy cable. I've been considering the Antec's because I trust the name. Thanks in advance..

I have ones from svc.com and work great, but everytime I disconnect one I'm afraid I'm going to damage the ribbon pulling part of it away from the connector. If there are some out there made with a release hook I'd definitely go with something like that instead.

I have the same one from SCV, they're "copper shielded" but that's just marketing bullcrap, it does look l337 though 🙂

They're quality enough for me, what exactly do you consider quality?

I'm using Silver ones from SVC...the shield works!!! REALLY!!! 😉

But yah as others have said, it can be a little scary removing them as there are no pull tabs or header clips. The plastic shielding also comes off the header pretty easily, but still better than paying $10 for a rounded cable. I bought 7 (2 x 10'' IDE single, 2 x 18'' IDE dual, 1 x floppy single, and 2 x 18'' IDE single) cables for the price of 2 anywhere else.

Yeah I bought it from SVC coz of the price too, and the copper version wasn't much more expensive. How'd you figure that the copper shielding work? Did you remove the shielding and noticed data errors or something?

I also buy my rounded cables from SVC. Can't beat the price, and they seem to be made quite well. Haven't had a single problem with it yet. And, for the record, I prefer the silver-braided ones 🙂

Nah, just commenting that I doubt the silver/copper braids shield any better or worse than standard rubber. There's still going to be cross-talk and noise, but its not enough for data corruption, at least in my experience. If anything, the quality of cable being used + data corruption is confused with running the PCI bus out-of-spec.

Oh ok, from what you posted "the shield works!!! REALLY!!! " I thought you really thought that bit of copper is gonna make any difference...but I should've seen your wink I guess 🙂

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'm in my pc alot, but the HDD isn't something I adjust very often. The cables from svc will certainly do, so I'll order up some tonight. Again, thanks for your input.
