I have four rooms and hallway. The cameras need not to be visible. Wireless will be good. I just want to see how the maid is treating my kids while I'm away. They have been complaining lately.

I think he meant it as a joke^^ but seriously, if you get your kids a rott puppy, it will guard them with its life.
 
You can also place a digital voice recorder in your kid's room/toy. Not as effective as a camera but cheap, easy and fast to "deploy". 🙂
 
I am more for cameras out in the open...hidden cameras are just going to set your kid up for more abuse if it's happening.

Foscam has some low cost cameras with two way audio. I monitor mine in a web browser and tune in when I hear odd noises. It's amazing how many people come to my door during the week and knock.

Foscam.us is the storefront. They are cheaper elsewhere but counterfeits exist.
 
Most all sporting goods stores cell cameras that have a built in motion detector and only take a picture when something sets them off. They are digital so they don't use film. The pics can then be viewed in the camera or up-loaded to a computer. Most all use a flash, but that could be turned off or covered so as not to give away it's location, as the flash is very fast. Once it re-sets the person wouldn't know where the flash came from. If they move again it will take another picture after it resets. 😎
