Found one that can only read but not write. Trying to create a dos network boot disk so I can do a network Ghost backup, one of the obstacles is the ntfs partition.
Tried to execute an *.exe command in dos thru the ntfs utility and it said program too big to fit into memory. This is for home use only, fyi.

Thx.

With DriveImage, can you image over the network? I don't beleive that program works with W2K Server. Can't do local backup because I only have 1 HD and its short on space.

Yes, it can backup over LAN.

You didn't say you were using 2K server, you said for home use. They don't list Server as compatible but it works under dos. I don't see how imaging a drive from a server is any different than any other drive. Isn't an image an image?

Ok got the new version 7 ghost and created a network boot floppy easily. Trying to create a network boot disk in version 6 was a pain, trying to fit all the files I need in one disk.
Backing up 9GB of files over a wireless network is painfully slow. At least it gets the job done though.

Thx.

Whew, finally done the desktop server backup. Took ~4hrs to backup 9GB of data thru the wireless connection.

Question. The backup is in 2GB spanned files. There's 4 files. **.gho and then there's these **001.ghs, **002.ghs, **003.ghs files. Is it alright if I go in and rename the original *.gho file to something else, and have the other 001, 002, 003 files remain the same as far as the 3 digits at the end goes, but change the beginning to be identical to the new *.gho name?

Say the first was...

hello.gho
hello001.ghs
hello002.ghs
hello003.ghs

then change them over to...

jello.gho
jello001.ghs
jello002.ghs
jello003.ghs

Would I mess up the associated links between the files? Thx.
