Please recommend an "elderly friendly" digital camera

I need to find a good digital camera for an older couple.

Criteria that I have so far:

* sub $300

* compact but not tiny

* easy controls

* big LCD

I know a lot of camera fit the above bill, but I'm wondering if anyone has specific recommendations that pass the older person test. Thanks.

Alfa, you really have a strange sense of humor - a 1DS under $300? LMAO!

Go with the Powershot P&S.

Go with a Canon Powershot. My parents and sister hated several Nikon P&S before I got them Powershots and they have very much enjoyed them. The SD 800 IS is about $250 right now, IIRC.

Walgreens has a 1-hour photo center, so they can get their film developed while they pick up their prescriptions.
