What do you guys think of the onboard audio of KK266? Is it decent? Or do I need to get a soundcard? What's an ECONOMICAL sound card? I am a little over budget already on my system...

Thanks,
Dhanu...

I use it on my system, I decided I really didn't need an $80 sound card for what I do. But then again all I really use it for is music & basic Windows sounds. So I have no clue how it fares for gaming.

Give it a shot, if you don't like it you can always buy something better later.

Unless you are a real lover of music, you probably would be happy with any card (even onboard). My thoughts:

1) Use the onboard if you mostly play games (the sound is just background music or less important bells and whistles).
2) Get a quality sound card if you mostly listen to CDs or watch DVDs.

If you are bent on getting a economical sound card, get the Sound Blaster Live! Value. It may not have the outstanding sound quality of the Santa Cruz or Hercules, but it is still a really great card. I think you can find it for around $45. Check out Pricewatch.com to see how much.
