I am running a home built system. The MOBO is a PCCHIPS M807. Ive had a 850mhz AMD chip overclocked to 985mhz for about 2 years and all of a sudden im getting Blus Screen of Death Errors. Here's the error message, it leads me to believe a problem with the RAM or CPU - .0028:C004AD5B in VXD VFAT (0)+0000978F.

Ive tried the memtest program, ran it twice and no errors reported. I dont have the ability to swap out the ram though. Ive doen a complete reformat and reinstall of Win 98 - twice - and no solution. Ive updated the driver's of my sounds card, and 3d card, no solution. So im thinking about upgrading my mobo completely. This will eliminate the mobo and cpu from being the problem.

If anyone can come up with any additional suggestions of how to fix this, would be very appreciated. Then of course, can oyu recommend a new mobo. I hate the PCCHIPS board. No support. No bios updates, and I heard nothing but bad things about them. So id like to stick with a good quality company. Id like to keep the price to about $250 including the new memory. Thanks to all.

I got an MSI KM2M Combo L a month or so ago and it is really working well for me with a Duron 1200 (OC to 1320) on it. Since the v.1.2 Bios update it has been (dare I say) perfect.
You could easily get a whole upgrade kit: mobo, CPU, DDR and HSF for under $200. See my reviews (of this mobo and my HSF) in the "User Reviews" section of http://www.techimo.com .

The KM2M Combo L has a 4X AGP slot and will mount just fine in a large case. But the Kt2 Combo L as tc said is pretty much the same w/o built in video and w/ more PCI slots - either that or the AOpen AK77-8XN.
