Need a new board for Core 2 DUO E6420 and Corsair XMS DDR2 800 compatible. Could any1 recomend a quality board ? budget $150, the cheaper the better without sacrifycing the quality/stability.
Exclusion: No Asus - had enough with this company, and their warranty = toilet paper.

If possible, trying to avoid P35 controller, someone mentioned it has RAM compatiblity issue, is this true? I had numerous issues with crucial ballistix on p5k in the past, guess it is caused by p35?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813131299 would also be a pretty sturdy piece of hardware. i dont know of any reason why the p35 would have issues though, but crucial ballistix tracer ram has been going bad a lot recently, and a few kits of their standard ballistix seem to be suffering similar issues. im using a 2x1gb kit in a rig running xp right now and it wont run at stock speeds at stock voltage. just swapped it out for a different batch of the same kit since it was giving me a hard time with my overclock stability. this was on an XFX 680i LT
 
Thanks NXIL and faxon. The gigabyte looks pretty solid, will give it a try. For now I want to be hands off Asus due to their disappointing warranty/RMA service.
