Which 19 Inch moniter would you guy's recommend that can do 1600 x 1200 resolution at atleast 70 Hz (preferably 75Hz), has a FLAT Screen, and cost Less then $375 Shipped to MD?

I was looking at the Viewsonic PF790 moniter. It has a .25 Aperture Grille and is about $364 Shipped from Newegg.com

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks

I would check out the Sony G400 ... it should retail for under $375 shipped too... and in my experience Sony monitors are a lot better than Viewsonic...

I'd recommend a KDS Avitron 19" (I think its model is the Avitron 195e). A lot of places sell them, and they definately meet those requirements.

I have the viewsonic e790 19" it's great... pretty flat screen... plus the screen looks a little bigger than most other 19" monitors when compared side by side.... I have mine running 1600x1200 85hz and it looks great

Does a person see that much more of a sharper image when viewing at 1600 x 1200 when using an aperture grill rather then shadow mask?

You will not regret this one. Samsung SyncMaster 900NF. My opinion and many other reviewer's is that is is just as good as the Trinitron. It is an Apature Grille monitor (like Trinitron), and $305 plus shipping, it can not be beat.

Another vote for the G400, a current G400 user :)

I have a Sony GDM 400PS and haven't seen anything in stores I like as much, but I haven't seen everything. My father has a G400 which looks as good.

I have a Sony E400 and (for the money) I swear by it.
I run it at 1280x1024 @ 85hz and also tried it at 1600x1200 @ 72hz and the picture quality is great.
If you can't afford a G420 opt for the E400.
Flat as a hockey ring and sharp as a ninja sword! :)

Oh, Nokia's are great too....

Hey NoVo, where did you find the Samsung 900nf for $305. The lowest price that I found was $325.

How about the Hitachi CM721F?

Heard extremely good things about it, and I'm liking the 5 year parts and labor warranty. Currently, it's on the top of this list for me as I shop for a new 19" monitor. I would like to see the Sony G420 monitor, as the price has come down a bit.

Check out the LG 915FT Plus, it has very good reviews, comes with BNC and VGA inputs, touch sensative buttons, can be had for $300 (techonweb) - $340 (buy.com) before shipping, doesn't have the tension wires horizontal lines, Flat screen, and uses a technology unique to LG that merges Apature Grill and Shadow Mask tech. that they call Slot mask. The Samsung 900 NF is my second choice.
