Please recommend a fast color printer....Thanks

I have an HP 970Cxi inkjet printer. I need something considerably faster. Any recommendations?

The Cxi claims some fast printing speeds, but does not live up to the claims. I was hoping some of you had experience with a printer that was fast and not too outrageously priced. This is for work, so it will do some heavy volume.

No printer in the would lives up to its claims. That printer you have there is decent enough.

So you are trying to say that the HP 970 is not fast enough? 13 ppm is one of fastest color printers out there (for under $6000,00) Even the color laser printers can only print 6-8 ppm in color... What do you expect???


If this printer is in a high volume area, you had better take a look at a color laser printer... Add up the special paper and ink used in a year for an ink jet and a color laser will probably end up costing you less for better quality.....

The HP has been printing Power Point slides, 2 up on a page with white backgrounds, colored text titles and one or two simple gifs per slide at a timed rate of 1 page per minute. This is not a difficult print job, but it sure does tie down the HP.

Every inket printers slow down ecually. I also got the 970 cxi, and find it extremely fast for an ink-jet printer. And if you aren't to concerned about the quality of the prints, print out in draft mode. Thats where they gets 12 ppm in b&w printing.

i have the exact same printer and love it, the response is immediate and it spits out any pics/papers i need without a problem. i highly doubt you're going to be able to find a better color printer then this at this price range, after this it's pretty much laser color printers.
