Would like to have something that does not have to software to install songs on. Also, would prefer flash instead of hard drive technology. She will be using it when walking/running and working out. TIA

I've got the 1GB Creative Nano plus and love it. No software is required...just plug it in and transfer songs and files back and forth using Explorer. It should be easy to find them for around $65-$70.

There was a Rio Forge on the wootoff today. 5GB for $80. Likely too late now though. I bought my girl one a long time ago and it broke...i guess this is the way things work.

Isn't that rediciously expensive? I got a 2GB player for $20.

If you don't care too much about quality, you can get a good deal on the occasional woot. There's a woot-off going on now and I would bet that they'll sell at least one more mp3 player before it's over.

Creative Zen V. Very sweet mp3 and well within your budget if on sale.
