My budget is about $100 -125US. It doesn't have to be aluminum. Roomy with good cooling. I have looked at cases like: Cooler Master Cavalier, Thermaltake Tsunami, Thermaltake VA30000, Cooler Master Pretorian. I'm open to suggestions. My current case is an Antec 1080 Performance Plus. I have been happy with it.

I have made up my mind on the rest of my components:

OCZ Powerstream 520w PSU
AMD 4000 San Diego
DFI lan party NF4 Ultra D
EVGA 7800GTX

I just can't make up my mind about a case and don't have th knowledf to compare tham objectively. Thanks for the help.

Hard not to recommend the Antec P180 for your budget. Have you gandered?

If you can get the P180 ... go for it. That case looks amazing.

If not, I would say just stick with yoru current case. It has plenty of cooling if you give it as many fans as it'll take (5 80mm IIRC) and is quite roomy.

Are they a reputable e-dealer. Haven't heard of them, but that doesn't mean anything.

Sounds like you all like the P180. I will give it a look.

Many thanks!

Tons of people on forums have said they ordered at Techonweb as they have had the lowest prices, including myself. No problems whatsoever.

Yeah, just like they all recommend Crucial or Corsair on hardforum. Or, how they recommend OCZ here. Or, how they recommend Enermax or Antec on Atari.
I don't mind getting some ideas from forum members, but I will check out reviews if I can find them.

. The Kingwin 424 is always a great choice for a sturdy, conservatively styled case with lots of features: toolless, mobo drawer, fan controller, etc. It is being sold some places under a different name with perhaps some different features for a bit less money (I think I saw it at computergate.com). ZZF has had good prices and selection on the 424 lately.
. A new brand called Vtech (don't know if it's the same company that makes the junky phones and kids electronic games) has some neat looking cases ( http://www.extremetech.com has a review on one model) with good features. I've seen them at jab-tech.com and svc.com but some or all models seem to be OOS quite often. They look some like the Apple tower case.
. I also think the Just PC Gazelle cases (Newegg has some) look pretty sharp (but I may be a party of one on that 😉 ) - you can dump the included PSU in FS/T here or keep it for a backup.
. And for something completely different, check out the Silverstone Berserker on Newegg - see my review here: http://www.techimo.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=397
. Or Nexus cases (some are similar to the Just PC Gazelle) - at http://www.jab-tech.com .

if you dont wanna spend much i suggest antec's TX640B. its a nice case with a 120mm rear fan. the fan helped me cool my cpu by 13 degrees. before i got the case my cpu was idling at 49~51C which was too hot for me so i went with this and now it idles at 36~38C with the rear fan on the medium setting. under load it hits 45~46C. plus the case has a clean look, nothing fancy.

on a side note the air guide on the side panel didnt fit with the 92mm fan holder on so i had to remove it so it would fit. it would hit the fan on my xp-90.

Link

theres the link to get it pretty cheap. directron.com even gives you the option to remove the original ps if you already have one.

I know people don't normally suggest products sold at Best Buy here but they have this Antec case for $85.49 with a $50 rebate. It's got a 120mm rear fan and a place for a 120mm fan in the front. It's also got the rubber hard drive grommets. Not a bad deal IMHO.

Does anyone have a used 1998 Gateway 2000 full-tower case they want to sell me for $5? The only hitch would be shipping and handling. 😀

I understand that Dremel cutting wheels are less than $10 per capsule of 50 at Home Depot these days.

You may want to get reinforced cutting wheels because the standard ones are really brittle and can shatter even with care. The reinforced ones have fibers in them.
