well, i wouldn't say found, but i know where some is. if my spreadsheet is right (its at least pretty clse) we have 138 members who contributed in january but not in the first full week of february. i'm guessing that they did not make the 3.03 switchover. i know that at least a few of the people on the list are quite active in OT. suggestions on what to do, perhaps a friendly email reminder pointing people to the new client and also this forum?

Funny you should mention that ,by blind luck I happened to be speaking to Mucman on ICQ earlier ,I also (by blind luck!) saw that his production had gone flatline on 1 st Feb :(.
On asking him he had no idea about the new client & the cutoff date (he's been & still is busy with school work).
I told him about v3.03 & the hosts fix for the old SETIQ as well as the new SETIQ.
We tried the hosts fix their & then ,but we weren't sure where it would go for Win2k  (anyone know?).
Anyway ,he's going to sort it out soon when he has some time :).

1 down 137(?) to go!:Q

As for those members in OT ,how about a PM?
Could you post the list of those 138 members? ,some of us may already be familar with them.

BTW I had no idea we had lost that many members!!:Q:(
We really should give this a bash

<< Sickle 584th >>

He's my recruit. I'll try to contact him about the new clients.

BTW ElFenix, remember to take Mucman off the list. :)

I suspect some of these folks left due to the 3.03 client? I recognize a few names, but don't know how to contact them. If I can help let me know what you want me to do!

I think I'm going to start PMing some of the people I recognize. Not tonight though...I don't have time.

Assimilator1: Not sure if this is right or not but I *think* you'll find the hosts file in...

\WinNT\system32\drivers\etc\

I know that's where it is on NT4 but I'm not positive about Win2K and my sucky Radeon likes to reboot in Win2K. :|

Assim1 -

Robor is correct as to the location of the hosts file on 2K (that's what I run my Setiqueue on). It is the same as NT (including the use of the "winnt" directory name), ie.,

\winnt\system32\drivers\etc

:)

Tuffguy responded to the OT thead ,he says that his PC's are in storage ,I think I was right(above)

I talked to Sickle 584th, and he was having problems with the clients crashing his computer, so he's stopped SETI until the next client version comes out. So, you can take him off the list. :)

BTW, I did tell him to try the 3.03 CLI and SETI Driver, so hopefully that'll work.

I posted this in Danzigrules' thread, but jlytle is a coworker of mine. His entire fleet consisted of burn-in machines that have now been moved out to our other offices, so the only computer he has available is his home system, and he's not currently able to run SETI there (spousal veto) but will probably be back with the next shipment of computers we get. ;)

Remove me from the list. I'm well aware of the new client I just haven't done a SETI unit for a long time (it's not my primary project).

I was on holiday on the switchover date. I was using the 3.03 client, but the old setiQ..

I returned back to find about 50 units not delivered, but applied the fix to setiq...

So I'm back ,....

I am on there becasue I didn't bother to switch to the 3.03 client. i have pretty much switced all my comps over to Rc5 for the timebeing. I might in the future swith one or two of them back over to Seti.

I don't know if you meant that you had switched most but not all to RC5 [edited to correct cock up!;)] ,but if you did then it's worth upgrading any left to v3.03 as any earlier SETI versions (on MS OS's) are 100% blocked & won't be doing anything for you (us)

No most of my machines are now just doing Rc5, sorry for the confusion Assimilator1. Maybe in the future I will switch one or two back.
