My pastor's oldest son, Kori has been struggling with cancer for the past year. We've had occasional prayer nights when his condition worsened but tonight I heard that he may have a couple of days left. The cancer spread all over his left knee, lungs and bones in the upper torso. I used to hear that he couldn't sleep because of the excruciating pain throughout his body and only could fall asleep while sitting up... in great pain...

I used to be a youth group counselor about 3 years ago when I had him as my student. He was in 9th grade then, and what a bright loving kid he is/was. (I was a college student) We used to talk about the struggles he went through as any teenagers did and how he had to deal with the hidden pressure to live up to certain ways because his dad is a pastor of a 300 member church.

The pastor is also a great guy, he just has that kind, warmth surrounding him everytime I talk to him. Ever since he was appointed to our church 3 years ago (we're United Methodist Church), he brilliantly led the church's direction compared to the previous one.

Please pray for my friend, Kori and his father Pastor Hong, and the rest of his family: a 2 year old baby and a 11 yr old sister.

This is how I look at death, if he is to die, I wouldn't grieve for him because I know he'll be in a better place. But I pray that God may watch over his family and most importantly, the pastor. His faith is strong as a rock and I continue to pray that he will be surrounded by our love and God's.

Please, at least lift up a small prayer for this kind stranger...

I'll be at the church in an hour (7pm) with the youth group, Kori's friends and the adult congregation. I've never had to deal with death from someone this close to me. I want to cry, please pray for him, Pray for a miracle.

If God may take his soul, let us realize that it is because of His love which we fail to see immediately... it will shape us stronger and firm...

Cancer is horrible. My grandmother just had an operation for a brain tumor a couple weeks ago, it has since been decided that they can do no more and any further treatment is just to extend her life a few more weeks.

I'm not a religous person but my thoughts are with you and your friend.

Every single person in my family that has died since I've been born (and a few before that) has died from cancer. My thoughts go out to your friend - cancer is a terrible thing to witness.

Me neither, but I'm gunna say a prayer anyways, because LOLyourFace asked me to, and if it can help in any way, then dammit I'm doing it...

Kori, kick that cancer's ass!

Cancer sucks, I've lost way too many friends and relatives to it.

If you're a Christian LOLyourface, why are you such a jerk to me? I'll say a prayer for your friend.

Being a Christian doesn't mean I am perfect and I am immune to annoyance.

I have flaws here and there. Christians aren't Flanders you know...

I'm such a jerk to you sometimes simply because I'm immature enough to find you peronally annoying as an attention whore. (as many members find you too) To be honest, you set yourself up sometimes... I mean, do you read what you type sometimes?

With all that said, I hope you see my shortcoming as sheer idiocy. I apologize. :: offers hand and some  ::

I hate cancer.. I hate it like it's my worse enemy and it makes me mad that it isn't merely something I could kill. Both of my grandpas died of cancer. My school's guidance counselor died of cancer. My brother's fourth grade teacher, both of my mother's roomates in college, etc, etc, etc.

I have friends that work in the Moffit Cancer Research center in Tampa.. Last time I went in there (to drop off lunch for my friend's girlfriend), there was an older man struggling to hold back tears, a woman in her 40s, and a very skinny man in his 40s in a wheelchair barely able to move right in the entrance. I didn't cry about it - but I can't stop thinking how horrible that is for that older man to outlive his son.

That really sucks about the pastor's son at your church. The worst things happen to the nicest people sometimes.. sometimes I wonder whether or not there's a reason.
