this may sound stupid... but have you tried going into the control panel ... user accounts ... and check that the .net is enabled?

I did try trillian, it won't work.
I'm not being abrasive, only 2 or 3 people actually helped, out of a 2 page thread. Bunch of douches.

Yea, but you cannot really expect serious tech support help in OT on a saturday night, can you.
anyway... reset your router. i had a problem once where i could not connect to certain site... like samsclub.com and avon.com and AIM would not connect, but trillian would. the tech support guy made me reset my modem and i was fine.
