Well I had to RMA a BFG 590 board and ended up buying a refurbished off of ebay. I know, *slap on wrist*. After some technical difficulties with getting the raid to work, the computer is still not up to full strength.

FOR ONE: I cannot boot into windows unless the Abit driver disc is in, even though the Bios is set to boot the drives first. With another disc or not one, I get the 'Invalid system disc, please insert blah blah blah'

ALSO: Once in windows if I try to access 'My Computer' it freezes up and I have to Alt+Ctrl+Del it the usual 50 times.

Here are my specs:

Opteron 1212 STOCK
Abit Nview
2Gb OCZ SLI ed. PC6400
2x Raptor 74Gb 16mb cache RAID 0
WD 500Gb Sata II
Evga 8800GTS 320mb
Zalman 600w quiet PSU
Creative X-fi
ALL BIOS SETTINGS ARE AT DEFAULT

Thanks for the help!

Well...I can't update Bios because it just won't let me boot from floppy. No matter what. If the CD's in (like it has to be) it tells me to remove it and try again. But when I do it tells me to insert CD. It's like the ODD has taken control of my computer! Someone just give me some compelling evidence that I really don't NEED these Raptors and sell them off. More over, should I just abandon Raid all together? I've toyed with the idea for a long time now, but as an enthusiast, I've felt it my place to incorporate the latest and greatest to the best of my ability. I'll stop babbling and dismantle the Raptors now. Anyone need some?, lol.

Oh yeah, from all the conflicting reports on the web- Am I really just getting an approximate 10% increase in speed with this Raid? I mean, I just used them for reducing load times.

Try disconnecting the optical & HDDs & clearCMOS.
As I said I gave up on RAID a few years ago because imo for my usage it was more hassle than it was worth - for some people it is worthwhile but not for me.
