OK I got a epox 8k7a running xp2100 no oc,gforce4 4200,plenty of pci cards ,2 usb devices ,5 case fans,1 hd , a dvd player ,384 megs pc2100,and burner was alsways stable using my enermax 365p-ve(350 watt)until recent case change and cpu..on cold boot had to reset psu a couple of times for it to boot ..if not would hang on boot screen where it shows memory size ..figure it was the 5v prob (4.67)so modded psu its at 5.05 noload and 4.98 under heavy load..ran prime95 10 hours no problem but if computer is off for around 5 hours or so it won't boot unless psu is switched off/on a few times,After that system is stable. Now I know it isn't truely the psu fault since 8k7a is a dual phase (takes 5 and 12 from same rail )so a psu change might or might not help but believe the active pfc and antec true power psu are doing a goodd job at a stable voltage....BUT price of a good psu is gonna be a couple dollars less for a good mobo....what should I do ?,...thanks

I would try another PSU and see if that does it.

Nect I would make sure nothing on the board is touching the case, and also make sure the wires from the PSU are seated well on the board.

I recommend the L&C 350 watt for $17.95 shipped from dealsonic. My readings are all at or above spec under load. Or newegg has a foxconn/allied 400 watt dual fan for only $36 shipped. My friend has one, and it works great.

thanks for your replies,I went ahead and ordered a antec truepower 480,figured even if new psu doesn't solve prob ..I've already checked mobo for a grounding problem my next step would be to just to do a mobo upgrade since my 8k7a is now out of date and would need a beeefer psu anyway..atleast this way all is justified ..thanks
