Please move the Bitcoin Mining thread from the Video Cards forum

Now that is basically impossible to make a profit mining Bitcoin using a video card, we really should move that topic to the Distributed Computing forum. That's probably where it should have went to begin with, since it's a distributed computing platform.

Request noted. I want to see what the regulars say since the thread still gets a regular amount of traffic, but unless there's a significant objection we'll probably move it.

For the record, the Distributed Computing folks will have rather strong feelings about dumping that thread there. The DC community (here) doesn't generally feel that VC mining falls under the category of "distributed computing". It has already been discussed somewhat here.

Though I will say that the DC crew is cordial enough that they'd probably leave well enough alone.

I tend to agree. It's the difference between being interested in economics in an academic sense, and being a day trader. Both technically involve economics, but they are wildly different in application.
