Hi all. I'm looking into Athlon 700 T-birds (socket A). I could really use some recommendations on mobos and pc133 ram combinations to go w/ the cpu, and also good sites to buy from. I'm not looking for cheap generic nor top of the line stuff. I just want speed and stability. I apologize for being so lazy on my part. =| I'd just like to hear from you guys to get the best deal possible. =) Thanks!

I just ordered the ASUS K7V from Viking computers for 164.95 + 7.95 shipping. Now I'm looking for imput on which T-Bird to go with.

As far as memory, I'm using Crucial pc133 with my o'clocked Athlon 500 running FSB at 105 and GFD at 7x with no problems. (384 Mb)on a K7M. Gonna set that system up for the wife after I get my new toys.

Then I'll bide my time with my trusty ASUS V6600 GeForce Delux till the NV20's come out.

After that, next upgrade will be Mustang/DDR combo when they come out.

Look at the slower speed T/BIRDS. Results with the KX133 chipset have been mixed. Some speeds, some weeks are a no-go. For almost certain T/BIRD use you have to go with an AMD Irongate board.

Cause the KX133 boards are crap, and I regret scrapping my K7M for this K7V...it is still a good board, and I still like ASUS, but this KX133 is just disappointing in its tbird support. I want the 760 chipset to come out, but I bet AMD will disable all multiplier manipulation with it. :(

Does anyone recommend the MSI K7T Pro aka MS-6330? (KT133 chipset) Remember, i'm looking for socketA, not slotA.
