I am finally ready to build myself a new computer this month and I have come up with the following components. It has been about 2 years since I last built a computer so I may be a bit rusty. Please let me know what you think!

CPU:EE6600 ZZF-320$
MOBO:ASUS P5B Deluxe ZZF-205$
RAM:Crucial Ballistix 2GB Newegg-340$
Video:BFG 8800 GTS ZZF-400$
HD:WD Raptor 150GB Newegg-190$
PSU:Seasonic 600W Newegg-150$
Case:Antec P180 ZZF-130$
SC:Audigy 2 ZS ZZF-80$

I am using a 500gb external drive as my data drive. I am unsure of my mobo selection. I have ready so many reviews that they all seem to bleed together. I may or may not try overclocking but from what I am able to understand, this mobo and ram should allow me the option.

Um... yea that MB\RAM your paying about $250 premium for pretty good OC'ing parts. That memory is really only useful unless you push to 500fsb. Which on air cooling, not many ppl can do. Its luck of the draw plus keeping your MB's NB cool will be really important. Some good DDR2-800 with 4-4-4-12 timings will also usually clock over 900mhz with laxed timings if you want to go over 400fsb. If you don't want to OC at all, taking some of that premium money and pushing it into other areas like going to an 8800GTX or getting a nice LCD or something.

Don't get that Audigy, pretty sure I saw in Hot Deals an Xfi going for less than that.

agreed...really nice build. I do agree with Daleon though, if you wanna save some cash, go with the DDR-2 800 Crucial RAM instead of the 1000. With air cooling and the e6600 the DDR2-800 should be just fine.
