OK here is my computer dilemna...

Day 1

I was playing a game online when suddenly my computer turned off by iteself... I turned it back on with no avail. I turned it back on 10 minutes later and I was able to get to my desktop on winxp. I was relived and i thought my problem was resolved.... i was wrong. I was prompted to a blue screen (similiar to those old-school blue screens from windows OS's prior to XP) It said something about hardware not being installed correctly blah blah blah...I reseted my comp and it resets after it posts. Im no longer able to access windows..

Day 2
im at my friends house and im amazed that i was able to log onto my desktop.. he thinks i should format my HDD so i begin to back up my files. as soon as i was done my computer crashed so i decided it was time to format... as i enter the installation of winxp it freezes and turns off. Now, i am not even able to turn on my computer, the lights flash for a mili second and turn off right away. I think its the power supply so me and my friend swap PS's.. still, nothing.. yet MY PS was able to start on my friends computer. Then we swapped HD's... my HD didnt work on his computer, yet his HD was working on mine, but, I was not able to get to windows or even get passed the first screen.

conclusion
i think its the HD and the PS... but im not sure at all... i wonder if it could be my Motherboard... some replies would be GREATLY apprecitated!!

specs:
motherboard: GA-7VRXP rev 2.0
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 80 GB
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce 4200 (gainward)
SOund card: Audigy 2
RAM: 256 MB DDR 2700 Samsung

lol....this'll get locked again.

never get pc advice from your friend again. computer crashes, you get hardware error messages, and your friend tells you to format your HD? he'd be a perfect Dell tech support worker.

try uninstalling all extraneous hardware (NIC's, modems, other PCI cards) so you can isolate the problem.

You're asking to get banned, bro. I'd quit it while you still can.
